Thread is the most underestimated decision in sewing — the seam is only ever as strong as what's holding it. Our thread wall is built around Gütermann Sew-All, the polyester workhorse that behaves on every machine and suits nearly every fabric in the shop, alongside specialist weights for topstitching, overlocking and hand work.

Matching thread to project is simple when you know the rule: all-purpose polyester for almost everything, finer threads for delicate sheers, stronger topstitch weight where the stitching is the design feature. Colour-matching tip — pick the shade one step darker than your fabric; it disappears into the seam better than an exact match.
