Loungewear is where comfort is the entire brief — and these fabrics deliver it: soft-brushed fleeces and sweatshirt knits for joggers and hoodies, stretchy jerseys for tees and lounge sets, and cosy cuddle textures for the dressing gowns and blanket-adjacent projects that make winter bearable. If the finished garment's job is being lived in, its fabric is here.
The making advice that matters: loungewear is worn and washed relentlessly, so pick fabrics that recover (nobody loves bagged-out knees) and pre-wash before cutting — cotton-rich cosies shrink with enthusiasm. A twin needle or narrow zigzag keeps hems stretching with the wearer.
These are also the most forgiving garments to learn on — loose fits hide beginner seams beautifully.
